Boston icons 0.6 release
After the huge update of version 0.5, this month was important to correct the bugs and extend the compatibilities. The new version 0.6 has interesting things for better visualization, even on non GNOME desktops. The idea is to build bridges for other environments and give some feedback for more experiences, although the backbone of the icon theme remains GNOME.
Boston wants to be open for minimalist desktops and configurations in the future. The target is to reach for every minimalism lovers with more quality and support. In addition, GNOME users should benefit from this because not all of them use the pure shell or native apps.
Some news about this release:
- New icons for CUPS, UI builders, virtual machines and some symbolics.
- KDE compatibility was improved thanks to new specifications in index file.
- A better XFCE performance is prepared. Legacy mode will provide fallback pieces for the sections which don’t show the new Adwaita look.
- A greater care for little icons will try to improve desktop panels if is necessary.
